A O+S Croquet Flip for KCW

A seriously short blog post about a flip I really enjoyed....when I finally did it!

It's made from a heavy knit (most likely a double knit) and some hideous metallic knit that Julia was given by a shopkeeper in the Los Angeles garment district. I added a zipper, a zipper pull, and cuff details which include buttons given to me by my dad.  I actually hand stitched all the metallic fabric accents as it refused to go under my presser foot!

Not my best photo work - I may edit this tomorrow when I'm not crazy-busy.  Julia just got back from 3 hours of gymnastics (as evidenced by the red face and the chalky shorts).  We're headed off to one of my favorite things - the Long Beach Municipal Band Concert in the Park.

Yay, summer!

    1. Yeah, I don't know what inspired me to do this. I do, however, like the way it turned out!

  2. You have no idea how tickled we are that you finished it!! **But seeing it makes us realize why you might not have been inspired to do so....given the current climate/weather. Still, you'll be glad in the fall / winter!!

  3. I'm with you on this particular gold fabric.... not a fan. I do love that you flipped this pattern into a jacket though, and I really like the way the buttoned tabs on the sleeves look.

    1. Ha! Sometimes, you have to make something you think the kid will like. Unfortunately.....she complained that I was using her fabric, then told me she thinks she looks like a boy! Ugh!

  4. Love your version! I always hand off my hand stitching to Allegra, she is zoo fast, and I"m abysmally slow!

    1. Thanks! As it turned out, the hand stitching really isn't as bad as I thought it would be!
